Sara Nannette Curnutt “Nan”, 61, of Charlestown, IN passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Legacy Funeral Center has been entrusted with her care.
A funeral service will be at 11 AM on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Christ Gospel Church, 2614 E. 10th St. Jeffersonville, IN, with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation for Nannette will be on Wednesday, October 9, from 4 PM – 8 PM at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main St. Jeffersonville, IN and on Thursday, October 10, from 9 AM – 11 AM at the church.
Nannette was born on July 24, 1958 in San Diego, CA. Following graduation from Oral Roberts University, she moved to Jeffersonville, IN, where she joined Christ Gospel Church. Since then, Nannette had been a devoted and faithful member, and she took great joy in catering to the young people of the church. Nan always had a nurturing and kind spirit, and was known by many as a second mom. From keeping her pantry well stocked with the young people’s favorite snacks to proofing their college papers; Nannette was always available to help those around her. She has received numerous awards for her outstanding performance as a librarian for the Louisville Free Public Library. She went above and beyond both at church and in her career.
Nannette is preceded in death by her father, Dr. James Ellis Thomas.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Paul Curnutt; children, Jocelyn Martin (Creston) and Alexander Curnutt (Keren); mother, Jane Thomas; grandchildren, Naomi Martin, Lily Martin, and little Harper Curnutt, who is on the way; brother, Peter Thomas (Cheryl), and a host of extended family members and friends.
Memorial contributions can be made to Christ Gospel Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
